Poetry by Jambo Stewart

It might seem rather plain

To sit and listen to the rain

The lightning

Might seem fright’ning

Passing through the window pane.

Thunder follows rumbling

Sound like giant boulders tumbling

Light bulbs flash

Outside waves crash

Nature is somewhat humbling.

Ever-flowing patter

Giving life to window splatter

The winds howl

While people cowl

Avoiding liquid matter.

It’s therapeutic, I find

Listening with nothing on my mind

The drains fill

But I sit still

And consciously leave stress behind.

Between things you need to do

Try to take a minute, maybe two

Clear your head

Shake off the dread

The sound of rain will see you through.
